For 2022, the day falls on Thursday, March 17, and events are planned around town.

Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City

Agave Caliente Terraza: The Fighting Jamesons will perform their mix of rock and traditional Irish music on Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19, at the casino’s outdoor venue. The shows are free and open to guests 21 and older. People can reserve their tickets on the casino’s website and pick them up after 3 p.m on the day of the event. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Café One Eleven: For breakfast, corned beef hash topped with two eggs and a choice of toast. 9-11 a.m. $15. For lunch and dinner, there’s a special of a corned beef Reuben with sauerkraut, secret sauce and gruyere cheese. 11 a.m.-8 p.m. $18.

360 Sports: Irish nachos made with waffle fries, salsa verde, corned beef, sour cream, sliced jalapeños and shredded cheese ($18). Drink specials include the Shamrocker Cocktail made with Cazadores Blanco tequila, Midori, Triple Sec and orange juice served with a salted rim with an orange twist ($12); Irish Eyes cocktail made with Jameson, crème de Menthe Liqueur and half and half served with a chocolate rim and a cherry ($12). Black & Blue Steakhouse: Three-course meal starts with a Caesar salad. Entrée choices include caramelized honey mustard rack of lamb served with mashed potatoes and braised cabbage, pan-seared Chilean sea bass served with a pea and celery root puree, or Filet Mignon served with roasted corn, potato puree and pearl onions. Dessert is Baileys Irish Cream cheesecake. 5-9 p.m. $59.

The Buffet: Only open to select members of Valley View’s Players Card program, featured menu items will include corned beef, sautéed cabbage, roasted red potatoes, Irish shortbread cookies and green velvet cake. 4-8:30 p.m. $42.

The Café and Patties & Pints: The two restaurants will offer a three-course meal with a choice of soup or salad; entrée of corned beef and cabbage with roasted red potatoes and seasonal vegetables; and Baileys Irish Cream cheesecake for dessert. The Café’s hours are 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and Patties & Pints hours are 4- 9 p.m. $24.
